Monday Matters #20

https://www.ted.com/talks/bill_gates_unplugged#t-1192456

Bill gates is known as one of the richest men in the world and is a self-made genius. In this talk, he discusses what it takes to get rid of malaria and how to fix education in the United States. Gates says that in order to have a stronger education system, there needs to be better teachers. Through some studies, he concluded that students with better teachers increase their national testing scores by a whole 10 percentile points. At this rate, with all better teachers, the United States would become the most intelligent country in the world. But, none of it would be possible without good teachers. That is why Bill Gates believes in KIPP, a school that teaches students through constant movement, excitement, and energy. With all this going on, it is inevitable for a student to pay attention. KIPP is the future and all teachers should refocus their teaching style so they can benefit the student, and eventually, the world.
