This article is trying to get the point across that knowledge is not what many people perceive it to be. At The University of Texas, the professor threw out the final and replaced it with a series of quizzes that the students took at the beginning of every class. The students ended up doing better than past students did on the final because they studied throughout the entire year instead of trying to cram in information for the final. By cramming, a person forgets just about everything by the next week. However, people can remember everything about their favorite sports team. This is because the brain choose what it thinks is important and remembers it. The person does not control what he/she knows, the brain does it itself.
