This cartoon is a strong argument explaining the difference how things happen nowadays when a child is doing bad in school compared to the 1960's. Back then, students were to blame if they were performing poorly in school. Now, parents like to believe anything their children tell them, even when the student tells their parents that it is the teachers fault they are failing. Teachers are not to blame, the student needs to work harder in class, rather than complain that their teacher is not teaching them well. Teachers are paid a low enough wage already to teach things to the student. If a student is failing, that student needs to work harder, it is not the teachers job to make sure that student is keeping up with everybody else, and parents need to stop blaming the teachers for this madness.
