This cartoon is a strong argument explaining the difference how things happen nowadays when a child is doing bad in school compared to the 1960's. Back then, students were to blame if they were performing poorly in school. Now, parents like to believe anything their children tell them, even when the student tells their parents that it is the teachers fault they are failing. Teachers are not to blame, the student needs to work harder in class, rather than complain that their teacher is not teaching them well. Teachers are paid a low enough wage already to teach things to the student. If a student is failing, that student needs to work harder, it is not the teachers job to make sure that student is keeping up with everybody else, and parents need to stop blaming the teachers for this madness.

Monday Matters #16
Some people perceive education to be how well of grades a person get. If somebody gets straight A's through school and never amounts to anything in life that does not mean they are more educated than a B student who created their own company. Just because somebody got good grades in high school doesn't mean they are a good teacher. A good teacher is not somebody that knows everything, a good teacher is somebody that can get the information across to their students. Good teachers should be given an internship and if they teach the students well, then they should get a good paying job right away so they stick with it.

Monday Matters #15
http://www.nytimes.com/2014/12/03/us/middle-class-pay-elusive-for-teachers-report-says.html?ref=education&_r=0
This article discusses how the paychecksdor some teachers in certain cities are much lower than they should be. Teachers in certain cities can reach max pay salary of over $100,000 very quickly, while in other cities it takes over 30 years to make that much money. Techera need to be payed more from the start so that they can base their lives off the job and stick around longer. With too low of a pay, teachers can't live the lives normal middle class people would because they have to wait for a long time to get a raise. The main point this article gets at is that teachers should be able to reach their max salary much quicker than they do now.
